Saskatchewan First: Energy Security and Supply Plan

As Saskatchewan continues to grow, a secure, reliable and affordable electricity system is essential to supporting communities, industry and investment. The Saskatchewan First: Energy Security Strategy and Supply Plan provides a long-term vision to strengthen energy security, expand generation and transmission infrastructure, and position Saskatchewan for future growth and opportunity.

Delivering Energy Security Through Nuclear Power

Nuclear power will play an important role in meeting the province’s future electricity needs. Delivering Energy Security Through Nuclear Power, an update to the Saskatchewan First: Energy Security Strategy and Supply Plan, was developed to establish a clear path for expanding nuclear power generation, strengthening Saskatchewan’s long-term energy security. The update outlines a long-term approach to developing nuclear generation, enhancing grid reliability, and supporting communities, industries and major investment projects across the province.

A Year in Review

The Government of Saskatchewan has made significant progress in advancing its vision for a strong, steady and affordable energy future.

Explore Saskatchewan’s key milestones, investments and achievements that have helped strengthen energy security since the launch of the Saskatchewan First: Energy Security Strategy and Supply Plan in October 2025.
