Indigenous Bursary Program
CIC provides funding to the following Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions to award bursaries to Indigenous students to support their education goals and enable career opportunities by building a skilled and inclusive labour force:
- University of Saskatchewan,
- University of Regina,
- Saskatchewan Polytechnic,
- Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT);
- Lakeland College;
- North West College;
- Great Plains College; and
- South East College.
Indigenous students attending one of the above-listed institutions who wish to be considered for a bursary should apply via their institution.
* Please note that CIC does not directly award bursaries to students.
Eligible students may receive $2,500 per semester or $5,000 per academic year for a full bursary.
To be eligible for the bursaries, students must:
- Be of self-declared Indigenous ancestry (includes Status First Nation, Non-Status First Nation, Métis or Inuit);
- Be a Saskatchewan resident for at least the past 12 months;
- Achieve satisfactory academic standing in completed post-secondary studies;
- Be registered full-time; and
- Maintain a 65 per cent average.
